Alderbrook Weekend Getaway

For our last weekend trip of the summer we went to Alderbrook on Hood Canal with the Oldelehrs, Heidergotts and Whitfields.  Owen rolled over for the first time this weekend from his back onto his front and this is how I found him after his nap one day.
Miss Sydney and Dane.  Sydney doesn't like to smile for the camera anymore BUT...I captured this one.
Marcus and Al with the boys...Owen and Dane are only 12 days apart and I think the dads may just have to share the coaching duties for the boys sports teams.

Husky or Wave?

After the big no. 3 USC win it could be a toss up where Owen goes to college.  His Lulu and Grandpa Dave would be thrilled if he carried on the purple and gold tradition as you can see.  Decorated with beads and Husky attire Owen attended his first Husky football game and tailgate.  We hesitated taking him at the usual departure time of 8:30am for a 12:30pm kickoff but we decided to go for it and he did awesome...thankfully, or it could have been his first and last game this year.

Al and Owen with Nick and Caden DiRe who were up from California for the game.  Owen and Caden had yet to meet...they are destined to be childhood friends if we have anything to say about it.

Huskey Season is Here

Although I have no direct connection with UW (well I actually have a graduate degree from WSU but I try to forget that...and so does my father-in-law!) I have learned how to tailgate with the best of them and cheer on the Dawgs. Dave and Sue throw a great tailgate each game for our friends and we are so thrilled for such great food and good company. Here are some pics from the LSU game.

He WILL be a fisherman

I think it's in Owen's blood already...salmon fishing.  Although he isn't as big as one of Al's silvers he'll get there soon enough.  We have been going on this same fishing trip to Ilwaco, WA for 25ish years and it was so wonderful to have Owen there this year...although sleeping in my parent's RV with him wasn't the most fun I've ever had.  The Papacs (Jr and Sr, minus their newest addition, dear Lindsey) joined us this year for the fun.  Papa is training Owen early!

Solid Food Here We Come...

Owen Sees Griffey Hit a Home Run

We went with the Heidergotts to another M's game but this one was special...Owen saw Griffey hit a home run!  It took until I saw these pictures to realize just how OLD Owen is getting, where has the time gone?

Laura and Mike's Wedding - Hayden Lake

Our friends from dental school, Laura and Mike, were married on Hayden Lake in Idaho and we had a fabulous getaway weekend!  Unfortunately, as I was going through the pictures we have no pictures of the bride and groom...what a nightmare...so sorry guys!  We rented this AMAZING hosue on Hayden and Angie and Joe brought their boat over for the weekend.  Needless to say it was pretty great taking a boat to a wedding...no cars, no driving, it was awesome!!!  My parents came to watch Owen the night of the wedding so we were baby free for the first night...totally weird.

Sara and Ryan on the boat ride to the Hayden Lake Country Club.
The girls.  Me, Lindsey, Becky, Angie and Sara...all dentists but me!!!
Al and Josh...those two kill me!

I can put the calories away like you would not believe while I'm nursing...I think I'll nurse until Owen's 4!
