Dentists and Athletes...Thank the Lord Boards are Over!!!

Al and his classmates finished their dental boards last Saturday and Sara & Ryan hosted a "Dentists and Athletes" party.  Al and I weren't very creative and both wore his old Pep basketball jerseys (he cut off some scrubs and made shorts so I guess he was 1/2 dentist as well).  It was a great time to finally celebrate their accomplishments; at graduation they still had boards lurking ahead.  Congrats Dr. Al and friends...amazing job!  Kate brilliantly suggested we have an "I TOLD YOU SO" party in a couple months when they get their results (aka...I told you that you would pass boards).

Summer Here We Come...

Kate and I took the boys to get lifejackets at Greenlake last weekend.  I think Owen might have issues with his cheeks weighing him down...or getting zipped up!

Our First Sounders Game

For my dad's birthday we got tickets for all of us to go to a Sounders game...finally I get Al out to a "Flint" sporting event!!!  He calls soccer fans "the others" which we all find extremely irritating, I hope Owen becomes a stellar soccer player just because of that comment.  It was a beautiful evening and we had a blast, it was so fun to see 30,000 Seattle fans supporting our family sport...made me miss it a lot!  There was a fan behind us that took these first two pictures of Owen and emailed them to us today, he said he was the cutest Sounders fan ever...we agree completely.

The celebration continues...

We continued to celebrate the evening of graduation at Jak's for a family dinner.  The following day Dave and Sue hosted a graduation party for Al at their home.  Our friend from college, CJ Jacobson (former Top Chef!!!) catered the party and did an AMAZING job.  I didn't get a chance to taste most of the food because as always I was too busy talking but from what I hear the rabbit pate and purple potatoes were to die for!!!

Congratulations Dr. Al

This past weekend we celebrated Al's graduation from dental school...YEAH!!!  For the past four years Al has put his heart and soul into this day and I was so very proud to watch him walk across the stage and be hooded as a Doctor of Dental Surgery.  I respect Al for his commitment, focus and dedication to his goal to become a dentist...it's finally here and I cannot tell you enough how much he has amazed me!  The persistence and perseverance he has showed was truly amazing and the sacrifices he made for our family is remarkable.  Congrats Dr. Al...now the real work begins!  Go Dawgs!
