4th of July at Mason Lake

I'm finally getting our summer photos up on our blog so here is the beginning...back to the 4th of July.  We spent the weekend at Cathy and Dave's cabin at Mason Lake.  Their son Jacob kept Owen entertained on the beach while we played Mason Lake "Patriot Games"...this consisted of a bean bag toss, kayak races, golf and ping pong.  FYI...we came home with the trophy!!!

The Papac Wedding

Our dear friends from dental school, Josh and Lindsey, were married in July and it was a wonderful occasion.  Al and I have been there from the beginning of their relationship and it's been so fun to watch them grow together.  Congratulations Papacs!!!

Back to Blogging...

I must apologize for my lack of blogging commitment this summer.  It's been really hard to keep up with all the stuff that we have filled our summer weekends with.  We've been to Mason Lake, Dabob Bay, Priest Lake, Sunriver and had a couple weddings to attend...needless to say each Sunday when we get home it's time to do laundry and repack for the next weekend adventure.  The three of us are having a great time doing all the things we love with our friends and family and have packing the Thule with baby gear down to a science.  Here are just a few cute pictures of Owen this last month.  I promise to do better about keeping this updated...if not you'll all stop looking at it!!!

Cute Family Pics...

Like Mother, like son...Owen hates his Daddy's "itchy-scratchy" face as much as I do!

Owen Meets his Great-Grandpa George

We had a Rumberger family BBQ last weekend at Trip and Kathy's house and Great Grandpa George and Helen met Owen for the first time!  It was so special to see them together, I just love that Owen has 2 Great-Grandpas to love on him!

Who wouldn't want to rock Owen to sleep with this view???

Seattle Rock n' Roll - WE ROCK!!!

When Kate asked me back in March if I wanted to run the Rock n' Roll 1/2 marathon this year I course said yes, why not?  4 months postpartum...what's the problem?  Up until the morning of the race I thought for sure I couldn't do it and that it was going to be a complete nightmare...but, it wasn't!  We did great and given that we are both post-baby runners we are feeling pretty good about ourselves.  We didn't get registered in time and had to buy our race bibs from friends that didn't end up running...we ran as Marcus and Heather (I was Marcus!).  Kate's parents made us these awesome signs and Al and Owen joined us at the finish line.  It was super fun and we had so much fun doing it together...WE ROCK!!!

Happy Father's Day

Al's first Father's Day...what a special day!!!  We were able to spend the day with both families and even see Great Grandpa Fred.  We went to church and then had a delicious brunch with my family in Edmonds followed by a little photo shoot at the beach (our goal is not to be frantically finding a Christmas card picture by Dec. 15th this year).  After brunch we rested...for a 15 min. Owen nap...and then headed to Mount Vernon to celebrate Grandpa Dave and Great Grandpa Fred.  A wonderful day...we love you Daddy and  thank you for being you!!!
